Oh How I Love These Two Guys!

This holiday season was wonderful thanks to my wonderful husband and sweet son! Brody was so much fun, even though he doesn't understand Christmas, I had so much fun going to Tucson and buying him presents! But this post is mostly a tribute to my sweet husband. For Christmas we drove to Mesa on Christmas Eve, then after spending Christmas with my family we drove back to Sierra Vista. Then turned around and spent the rest of the week in Tucson at the Starr Pass Resort with the Clawson's. Then we came back to Sierra Vista.....and once again left after church to go have dinner in Thatcher with the Allred's. Lets just say I'm exhasted! Lance realized that I was so so tired, so when we got home at 8pm, he took Brody, and I went and relaxed in a hot bath! (I LOVE LOVE baths)Pure Bliss. When I came down stairs Lance had made a fire and was feeding Brody a bottle. And on top of that, since Lance isn't working at the bank anymore, I get to see him more often! And yesterday, he offered to go grocery shopping for me! He is such a sweetheart! Thank you Lancer, I Love you!

Happy Two Years!!!

Time sure does fly...when your having fun!

I love these girls!

I was the 21st grandchild to be sealed by my grandpa Standage...He is such a meek and inspired man.

My awesome sisters!

Our wedding day was so much fun...i wouldn't have wanted it any other way! Lance is such an amazing person. One of my favorite things about him is that he was such an incredible missionary. He loved the people of Venezuela so much and he was able to bring so many souls unto Christ. He has such an amazing testimony of the church and it strenghthens me so much. And I'm so grateful for his love for our family, he works so hard for us and I love him so much! I can't believe two years has gone by so fast...and now we have a sweet baby boy! I love you so much Lancer! And I'm excited for the years to come!

High School Tag

So I was looking at Adele and Amy's blog's and they did a fun high school tag...and I'm real bored, so here it goes...

1. Did you date someone from your high school? Nope.

2. What kind of car did you drive? I drove a '98 purple jeep wrangler... not barney purple though...it looked real close to black.

3.Did you pass your driver's license test on the first try? ya, barely. I was driving Adele's green honda...which I had never driven before. and then I had to drive through construction and forgot to get in the turning lane when I turned left...woops.

4. Were you a party animal? No, not at all.

5. Were you considered a flirt? I don't think so, I was pretty shy.

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Ha ya...Dorkestra! Dr. Temme really hated me(I talked to much!)...which makes me laugh because he liked you, Adele. psh..

7.Were you a nerd? No. Well I hope not. haha. No really I had fun in high school with friends!

8. Were you on any varsity teams? Nope, I always kinda wanted to, but I was terrible at sports!

9. Did you get suspended/expelled? Nope.

10. Can you sing the fight song? Was there one?

11. Who was your favorite teacher? ummm.... I think her name was Ms. Nunez? in English, she was way nice. BUT I really hate school, so I can tell you who I didn't like, Mr. Vogl-for some kind of math and Mrs. Peterson-mythology (who takes that class anyway!). But my senior year I went to Beauty school instead and I LOVE Mrs. Lua! haha!

12. Where did you sit at lunch? umm..we had open lunch, so mostly home and taco bell, yum! And then in beauty school we had a good ole time in the back room. It was like a little cubby hole...We would take like 2-3 hour lunches..hahah.

13. What is your school's first name? Mountain View High School.

14. Did you go to Homecoming? and with who? Yea, senior year I went with Mike Grubbs.

15. Did you go to prom? Haha, ya. It was pretty fun. Harrison Rogers is a goof ball.

16. If you could go back and do it all again would you? No way!! I love my life one million times better now! Getting to have your best friend with you for eternity and the blessing of starting a family is so much better!

17. What do you remember about graduation night? It was hot and gross, with bugs flying around. But we went to the grad night party and then went to Whitney's house and swam, is that all we did? I can't remember everything...

18. Where did you go senior ditch day? I dont' even think I ditched. I've never ditched school, I was too scared. Not for school, but my parents would KILL me. ahah...I learned through my big sis.

19. Were you in any clubs? Nope

20. Have you gained weight since then? Well I don't want to brag, but no. I'm the same.

21. Are you planning on going back for the 10 year reunion? Probably, I don't see why not.

22. Did you have a job senior year? No, I was in beauty school from 10-5pm. That was enough work for me.

Wow, how funny. If you have any fun memories from high school, leave a comment, I wanna know!

Oh! and I have some good news! Today was Lance's last day working at the bank! Yea! Two weeks ago he put in his notice, because trying to work at the bank and running a business was too much! So he is all done and we couldn't be happier! Now we get to see him a lot more often and Brody and I are so so happy! We Love him so much!

THREE MONTHS

I seriously can't believe that I have a three month old! He has grown and changed so much!!!

He is so so active. Basically, he likes to be entertained in some way, ALL the time. He likes to stand and sit on your lap. And loves to watch TV.

He absolutely LOVES bathtime. If he's ever super fussy, I just give him a bath and he is happy as can be. He splashes and kicks. The sad thing is he gets a little ecezema or a heat rash if he's in too long. So he only gets to stay in 10 min. tops.

We have a schedule down pretty good. He takes a 1 1/2 to 2 hour nap in the morning; a 2 hour nap in the afternoon; and he's very close to sleeping through the night! He goes to bed around 8:30 or 9 and last night got up at 4am! So hopefully his tummy will realize that he doesn't have to eat at nighttime! Which would be wonderful for mom!

Brody is smiling and laughing. He is a pretty serious baby, and used to take a while to make him smile, BUT he is smiling more and more everyday!

He loves to cuddle and wrap his arms around things. Last week we found out that he loves this little puppy. He loves to hug, slobber, and bite his puppy! haha! And he has to have a blanket to hug when he takes a nap.
Lance and I LOVE this little boy so much. We are loving watching him grow up! He makes us laugh so so much!

ALOPECIA

Definition: loss of hair, wool, or feathers: BALDNESS

This is how I've been feeling for while...except multiply the hair by 100 times!

Another side affect of pregnancy...but it's totally worth it.

However, I have such fine hair, that there is no point in fixing my hair for the day. Because it just looks like this...

Anyone else feel this way?

Well, I talked to my wonderful husband about this...because we all know he went through the same thing...except on a much larger scale. Lance lost his hair on his mission, which he said he is so thankful it happened at that time. The reason being, he didn't have time to think about himself and his hair. He asked his mission president if he could buzz his head and now he just shaves it. I love it though and especially right after he shaves it! It's so smooth!

Don't worry buddy, BALD IS BEAUTIFUL!

Family Pictures!

So a couple weeks ago we finally had family pictures done! One of my best friends Kacey was nice enough to take the pictures...she is basically professional! She did such an amazing job and I love them so so much! Our family of THREE!

Mr. Brody Boy!
Doesn't this one look like a Christmas Card! I love it!

I Love Christmas!

I'm so happy it's Christmas time! So this week my husband is gone for three days, which stinks big time, But I'm going to keep myself way busy and put Christmas decorations! And I think I'll watch some Christmas movies while I'm at it! I love this time of year, I was watching a Christmas program on PBS...haha I know. Ya know those ones where they show you part of the program and then beg for money...ha. Well, it was a music program and they were singing about how people are so nice and cheerful during this season... it's so true though. But what's sad is why can't some of those people be happy all year long and not just at Christmas. Which reminds me of this grouchy old man that lives in our neighborhood. He walks his dog and smokes a cigar everyday at 5 pm. funny I know. But I see him almost everyday and wave at him, but he just looks at me and keeps walking. So rude huh? I wonder what he's thinking everytime I wave at him. is he mad? is he not all there? ha... I don't know. But I think we all just need to be a little more friendly all year round, say hi to people, make small talk with random people. We don't have to put up a block wall to everyone...yes definitly to those creepy Chester's...but anyway that's just a little somethin I've been thinking about. Oh and I totally watched a fun Christmas movie the day after Thanksgiving with my sister's. We watch this wonderful movie every year, and I love it so much...I'll probably watch it like five more times. If you haven't seen White Christmas, it's a must!

TWO MONTHS

I can't believe this cute little boy is two months old today and I'm lucky enough to be his mom! Lance and I have had so much fun watching him grow and learn new things...

What I Love about Brody...

1. He is so happy in the mornings! We always brings Brody into our room and we play until Lance has to go to work

2. The first time Brody smiled at me was such an awesome feeling! It's
such a joy everytime...it never gets old!

3. Brody does this thing where he sucks on his top lip...it is hilarious! I've noticed he does
it when he's either hungry or tired. (I tried to upload a video...but I'm technologically
handicap).

4. Lance and I LOVE his exhausted, tired cry...(it sound cruel) but it is the cutest thing
ever! He will smile and coo and then suddenly his face changes to this pouty lip cry. And
he will flip back and forth from that until he either cries nonstop for food or falls asleep.

5. Brody is getting close...or starting to get close to rolling over. He basically throws his
legs and arms up in the air and rolls to the side!... then I push him all the way over. And
he smiles SO big!

Well, we had his 8 week appointment last Friday. He is 26in long and weighs a healthy 12lbs 13oz. He is filling out and his cheeks just keep growing....the better to kiss! And then he got three shots...I have never seen him cry so hard. It was so terrible...and I bawled my eyes out. But the nurse reassured me that I wasn't the first mom to cry. And I will probably do it every appointment.

Happy Two Months Brody!

Recent Happenings

It's been getting pretty cold the last two weeks and the fall colors are beautiful. I'm not sure how I feel about the cold yet though...Because the monsoons were so wonderful here this summer. But I am loving that we've been able to make fires. We took some quick pictures before we went to carve some pumpkins...

And yes, we grew three of the four in this picture. I'm pretty proud of that...haha. It was a lot of fun. This was the first night that it was pretty cold. So we got to wear sweaters and Brody wore his cute hoodie.
Lance wasn't able to be home for Halloween...but he shot us some food! ha. No, but after such an eventful weekend hunting, :( and 15 min. till sundown Saturday night he shot his deer at 482 yards. We almost lost it though, when it started rolling down the cliff, and fortunatly got caught in a bush. We made jerky all Sunday and Monday, which I must say is AMAZING.
And then this last weekend my sister and her husband came down to S.V. for his hunt. It was fun for us to hang out and the cousins too. Here's Brody and Tate...They are going to be good friends growing up!

One Month and What a Blessed Day

What a wonderful day! Well, Lance's Aunt, Uncle, and cousins came down on Saterday. We all hung out and watched the ASU game. We had such a fun time! Then that evening my brother and sister-in-law came, and all of went to dinner. On Sunday, the rest of my family came, it was so good to see all of them. We went to church, and had so much family and support there. Since I was the music chorister, I was lucky to sit close when Lance gave Brody such an amazing blessing. But it so hard to lead the music after hearing such special words...but I sniffled my way through it! After church, we went to our house and had some incredible spanish food and had a fun time with our family! Thank you to Adele for taking pictures and letting me steal these first three from your blog!

Also, Sunday was Brody's One Month Birthday! He has grown so so much and we are having so much fun with him. He has started "talking" with us and giving us cute little side smiles. He's been so good at sleeping 4 and 5 hrs at night, but he has basically been doing that since he was born....I know your all jealous! What can I say...he just knows that his mom is very grouchy without sleep.

Brody in October

This sure has been an eventful month...
Our pumpkins and corn were finally all done. The pumpkins...as you can see...turned out great. We got about six of them! However, the corn did alright. The worms got to most of it, but they made for awesome fall decorations when dried out!
This is brody chillin in his stroller. We go on a walk almost everyday, only around the circle to the mailbox and back. But it's good for both of us to get out of the house!
Every morning Brody wakes up around 6:00 or 7:00. I'm still a little tired, so he loves to just sit in his swing or lay on the floor and watch good 'ole Sesame Street. He seriously loves it! So that's just some of our excitement for this month, and it's only going to get busier, but I guess that's how life goes!

Sunday....Day of Rest?.....Or Not!

I'm such a "schedule" person and getting used to being so flexible has been pretty difficult. So of course "Saterday..." definitely "...was a special day." I tried my hardest to ready myself for our first Sunday back to church. One of my pet peeves is being late. Therefore, Lance's shirt was ironed, the diaper bag was stocked, and my alarm was set.
We started off the morning giving Brody a bath...I LOVE the smell of clean baby, it's my favorite! He hates baths, but who would like being undressed and cold. But afterward, I wrap him up, hold him, and he loves to just air out!

I fed him right before we left, because I'm the music director in Sacrament Meeting (go ahead...give it to me...it's an old lady calling...But I love it.) and I wouldn't be able to leave during Sacrament. But don't fret, we had a bottle just in case.
We took some quick pictures before....and then we were off...

Alright, it went pretty smooth. Just one poopy diaper that made him mad, between the sacrament and the first speaker. Perfect timing. And everyone loved him and just thought he was the cutest...which he is. And then Brody and I went home, and Lance went to Young Mens.
So I would say the day was successful!
...Mission Accomplished...(how am I going to do this every Suday...I'm gonna be a nut case!)
