Well, I wanted to get into the upcoming holiday- EASTER!
Like Spring, I don't think I've ever been so happy and egg-cited(just couldn't help myself) for it.
I wanted to make a cute treat for my Visiting Teachers, Primary Class, and Lance's Young Men's Class. I was scanning some recipe sites and found this little ditty on allreciepes.com. I altered it a little bit, but it worked out perfect- but if you don't trust me- fine go look it up.
Ingredients:
3T. Butter
1 (10.5 ounce) regular marshmellows
6 1/2 Cups Rice Crispies
1 1/2 Cups Milk Chocolate chips (I just used the whole bag)
5t. Shortening
plastic easter egg
wax paper
cooking spray
Spring-y Sprinkles!
1. In a large saucepan melt butter. Add marshmellows- stir until melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add rice krispies. Stir until well coated. Spray the plastic egg and your hands with cooking spray. Divide warm cereal into plastic egg to mold, close egg tight, then open and put rice krispie egg on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Let cool. Makes about 24 eggs.
3. In a small saucepan combine chocolate chips and shortening. Cook and stir constantly until melted. Dip bottom of eggs and decorate with sprinkles. Place back onto wax paper, and refrigerate until firm.
I wrapped each egg individually in plastic wrap before putting them in decorative bags.
Happy Easter!!!
